Mrs Gibbs - Young Carers Support
If you would like support or advice Miss Ellis the Young Carers SLT Team Leader runs a Young Carers Drop in Surgery for Parents at school EVERY MONDAY 1.00 – 1.30. If you are unable to visit the school please email admin@corringhamprimary.com so that we can arrange a home visit. You will receive a reply within 24 hours.
Are you a young carer?
A young carer is someone aged 18 or under who helps look after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug or alcohol problem.
If you're a young carer, you probably look after one of your parents, or care for a brother or sister. You may do extra jobs in and around the home, such as cooking, cleaning, or helping someone to get dressed and move around.
You may also give a lot of physical help to a brother or sister who is disabled or ill. Along with doing things to help your brother or sister, you may be giving them and your parents emotional support too.
If you answered yes to any of the above we can help!
A member of the Pastoral Team is on hand to offer support and guidance for any difficulties or barriers you may be facing at home or school.
Do you need help with your homework? Want to talk to someone about your health? Need help with personal organisation? Need help to make or attend appointments outside of school?
We can give you great advice and also make sure you and your family are getting all the help that you need. If you would like to leave us a message there is a Pastoral Message Box in our office where you can ask for one of the team to come and find you to have some 1-1 time to talk. Remember we are here to help!
