Eco-Council Recycling

Before half term, the Eco-Councillors brought their pen recycling boxes to the Eco-Council meeting so that the run-out stationery collected so far could be taken to the Terracycle Recycling Point. As a school we have managed to save an amazing 5kg of writing instruments from going to landfill. We are still continuing to collect run out pens, biros and markers.

So what happens now? Once collected, the writing instruments are cleaned and separated by material type. The fibres and plastics are recycled into raw formats that manufacturers use to make new products.
