BackWorld Book Day 2025
MHLA have had a wonderful day celebrating World Book Day, with the theme of Maths through Story Week!
Numbers and narratives came together this week as children explored mathematical concepts through engaging stories. This creative approach helped them grasp key mathematical ideas in a fun and memorable way, reinforcing the joy of learning through storytelling. Reception have enjoyed learning maths through the story of 6 Dinner Sid learning ways to make the total 6; Year 1 have had fun measuring and making clothes for The Smartest Giant in Town; Year 2 have explored capacity through the story of George’s Marvellous Medicine; Year 3 have worked on area and perimeter making houses for the 3 Little Pigs; Year 4 and Year 5 have explored fractions using the stories The Hungry Caterpillar and Fractions in Disguise; Year 6 have explored equivalent fractions in a creative and engaging way using The Hungry Caterpillar.
It was also wonderful to welcome so many parents into classrooms each morning this week to read with the children and find out about our reading focused start to every day!
